Our Client, the National leader in their industry, is seeking a talented IT Operations Specialist to join their growing Platform Services Team in building and supporting a complex Windows Server Infrastructure. This is a full-time permanent opportunity based in the west-end Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Reporting to the Manager, Platform Services – Technical Services:

HERE'S HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Ability to support a variety of technologies, business departments and systems, and independently resolve problems and pro-actively communicate solutions

  • Remain current on IT issues by acquiring and maintaining knowledge of relevant products and initiatives

  • Research tools and processes to evaluate their usefulness to departmental and corporate needs

  • Support department policies by providing technically accurate solutions to end users within the provided guidelines

  • Enhance the quality and efficiency of the Technical Services team by participating in team projects and initiatives

  • Ensure the delivery, availability and provide subject matter technical expertise on infrastructure in support of project initiatives

  • Investigate and participate as a 2nd level SME in resolution of system problems to ensure maximum availability of the infrastructure and systems

  • Review, maintain and provide ongoing improvements to the general environment for all hardware and software

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Minimum 5+ years demonstrated experience in administration of service call, incident and problem management tools

  • College diploma in Computer Systems Technology – Networking or Computer & Network, or similar; University Degree in Computer Science; or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in designing, deploying, hardening and supporting a Windows 2008R2 / Windows 2012R2 / Windows 2016 Servers and Domain including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Services, Print Services, Group Policy, Certificate Authority

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Cloud technologies including Azure and M365

  • Proficiency with Microsoft SCCM & SCOM

  • Functional knowledge with Citrix, VMware, Exchange, SQL, PowerShell, Batch Scripting

  • ITIL Foundation Certification or additional certifications considered an asset

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing in a team environment

  • Able to work a flexible schedule of days, evenings and weekends as required

  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-task environment as a collaborative team member with ability to contribute to multiple projects and/or tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Independent, well-organized, self-starter and able to adapt to change

  • Good interpersonal skills with a natural ability to work with and support colleagues, ability to adapt to and work effectively with co-workers who have different styles and levels of technical knowledge

  • Positive, flexible, open-minded approach towards work assignments
